10 great moments in the history of WCOOP

Ahhh WCOOP. You’re like that best friend who moved abroad, but when they come back once year, you have the best couple of weeks together (remember, the 2018 WCOOP kicks off on September 2nd).

This week we took a look back at 10 of the greatest WCOOP moments, from arguably the best final table in online poker history, to the beginning of Fedor Holz’s unbelievable run. From Daniel Negreanu defeating Isildur1 to win his first WCOOP title, to Jason Mercier live streaming a $100,000 buy-in Super High Roller live on Twitch. From the first post-Moneymaker Main Event, to the largest single prize ever awarded in an online poker tournament: $2.27 million. Wow.

Check out those moments at the links below.

Canadian amateur Jennifer Carter wins Platinum Pass

Jennifer Carter hails from Toronto, Canada, where she lives with her husband and two daughters, ages 10 and 14. When she isn’t busy with her family she knits and plays a lot of poker, both in a small weekly game with regulars and for micro-stakes on PokerStars to practice and learn new games.

And after a fantastic performance in an online qualifier, Carter is now heading to the Bahamas in January where she’ll take part in the $25,000 buy-in PokerStars Players Championship.

Jason Kirk talked to Carter about her victory, her excitement for the Platinum Pass, and why she might be seen knitting at the tables. Check out that interview below.
