The Turbo Series is set to bring us a barrage of exciting, fast-paced poker action over the next couple of weeks. The first day alone brought over $2.5 million in prizes. Let’s take a look at the highlights from Day 1.
The Turbo Series got off to a flying start, with the first event, the $215 PKO, reaching a total prize pool of over $1.3 million.
Congratulations goes to Russian player “MAMOHT_T”, who patiently persisted to triumph on their third entry.
MAMOHT_T is no stranger to hitting the big time, having previously won a SCOOP title and made several huge final table COOP wins. They took down the Turbo Series event for $81,420, also netting themselves a neat $52k in bounties along the way to bring their total to over $130k.
In second place came Czech reg “LIKE A G6”. They also earned $81k for first, with an additional $8k in bounties.
Event 002 had a $109 buy-in, no gimmicks, just pure turbo action. Down to the last two players, “soydelmillo” from Argentina and “Ralidon94” made an ICM split. Soydelmillo, who’s past poker accomplishments include a Sunday Million final table, went on to claim first place for $56,776. Ralidon94 scored by far their biggest ever win, $47,241 for second.
Next up were two Turbo Series special editions of the Sunday Supersonic.
The $530 Supersonic reached a prize pool of over $490k, with the last three players agreeing on a split. “VC VEM!!!” from Brazil was ahead at the time of the deal, eventually finishing second place but taking the biggest prize from the tournament, a total of $64,592.
Despite earning less from the split, “aaldert-92” from the Netherlands finished strong and came first for $58,566. “t,tq-,zft@z” from Germany, who was also involved in the deal, came third for $53,779.
The $55 version of the Sunday Supersonic had 7,973 entries, taking the prize pool to over $417k. There was to be no deal made in this one. “vitojhon” from Venezuela took the full amount, $58,747 for first. Russian online and live pro Anton “surprisefirm” Petrov came second for a touch over $40k.
