Three big scores in one weekend? Old timer Nilsef shows that it’s possible. The 50/50 Series brought plenty of mid-stakes fun, so we’ll bring you the highlights from those games, plus the Sunday major poker results. Here’s how it went down:

Three wins in one weekend for nilsef

Every now and then, a player manages to pick up two scores in one weekend. That’s something to shout about already. Rarely do we see anyone hit a big triple. “nilsef” was clearly on a roll.

Nilsef arrived at the poker tables through the world of online chess, and has been playing at PokerStars since 2005. Since then, Nilsef has amassed over $10.4 million in winnings. He’s currently ranked second in Germany and 54th worldwide, according to PocketFives.

The player first came to our attention in 2010 when they won a WCOOP title, but has always remained something of an enigma. We still don’t know his name, but we do know that he’s won a SCOOP title and five, yes five WCOOP titles.

When we consider the player’s record, at least what we know of it, there’s less shock that he managed to pull off the scores that he did this weekend.

Nilsef started off with a first place finish in the HRC $530 Daily Supersonic on Saturday for $10,388. He also took down the NLO8 Sunday Supersonic for a further $4,709.

But nilsef’s biggest cash of the weekend was his victory in the Sunday HR, one of High Roller Club’s most prestigious tourneys. nilsef was involved in a three player split to chop up the prize pool. Holding the stack advantage, he earned the most from the deal. Although nilsef technically missed out on the first place accolade, his second place total earned him the biggest score in the tourney, $48,903 (Piggysnipz from Canada took $48,139 for first).

Nilsef’s total for the three wins comes to $62,236.

50/50 Series results

The 50/50 Series started on Sunday with seven events, including the special edition PKO Sunday Million.

The series kicked off with the $50 Sunday Marathon. The top three players split the prize. Second place “elikarl94” of Hungary earned the most, a total of $22,158, and first place “FutureofMe” from Ireland took $14,798.

Fifty tournaments at $50 a piece. It’s the PokerStars 50/50 Series

Muntas “bagoch” Bagocius from Lithuania earned a rapid payday in the Event 04, $21,955 in under three hours of hyper turbo play. Bagocius’ online results are hidden, but they won the Sunday Million in 2012 for $196k, then again in 2015 for $168k. We also spotted Bagocius on the final table of the Millie in 2020. He’s active, and we suspect he may have a fair few lower key MTT wins under his belt too.

Event 05, the 6-Max Turbo, proved popular with the prize pool reaching $342k. “melissa_1596” from Moldova took second for a total of $23,793, and “dr.g.lecktor” from Russia came first for $28,982.

The special edition $50 PKO Sunday Million reached an epic $1.41 million from 31,113 entries. “Seanlazdi” from Brazil came second for a total of $71,198. “PALbICH” from Belarus finished first for a total of $78,894.

Sunday major round-up

Here’s a round-up of the biggest and best Sunday major results from the weekend:

Tim “tamiam122” Cramar from Mexico made a heads-up deal with “GainadGADOL” from Malta in the Sunday Warm-up. Both players earned decent scores, but Cramar delivered the final blow and added $16,617 to his online total of over $5.5 million.

The $22 Mini Million ended following a three way split. “NurlanGGG777” got the win for $15,959.

Brazilian player “Vitaop10” picked up a great ROI in the Sunday Storm, earning $18,878 from the $11 buy-in event.

In the $109 Sunday Cooldown, “jedpaula” of Brazil earned a total of $27,844 (inc. knockouts).

RaiseUpBlind won the $215 Sunday Supersonic for $22,913 after just two and a half hours of play.

In the $1,050 Sunday Cooldown, “Uivelo88” from Finland overcame top ranked Simon “C. Darwin2” Mattsson heads-up to claim first place for $31,717. An incredible $20k of this total came from bounties.
