Test your Championship skills in the Play Money Masters

June 30, 2014

Rumour has it there’s something of a poker bonanza going on at the moment, as players from around the world gather in the desert in the hopes of taking home a rather fetching bracelet (or two, if your name happens to be George Danzer). With big fields, a wide range of events and daily tournament action, Las Vegas is the place to be right now for players with six-figure bankrolls, plane tickets, luggage, hotel reservations and…

…hang on, isn’t there another way to enjoy a high-profile tournament series that’s a little less expensive and stressful and a little more, well, fun?

Of course there is, and of course PokerStars is where you’ll find it! This summer sees the debut of the Play Money Masters (June 26-July 13), a tourney series that’s all about the thrills, spills and skills to be found in high-level poker, and less about the dollars and cents.

Featuring more than 50 Play Money tournaments over 18 action-packed days, the Play Money Masters offers a wide range of tourney types and buy-ins. Just like the annual shindig in the desert, you’ll find Championship Events in all kinds of different poker variants, from Heads-Up Hold’em to HORSE, Shootouts, Knockouts, Omaha, Stud, Badugi and plenty more. There’s even a Ladies’ Event and, in the spirit of gender equality, a Men’s Event.

High buy-ins ensure that you’ll find a suitably high level of play, with the ‘cheaper’ tournament buy-ins standing at 50K chips, all the way up to 1M chips for the 17 Championship Events, and a 10M chip buy-in for the series highlight: the Main Event, starting at 14:00 ET on July 13.

You may not be playing for stacks of hundred dollar bills, but there are certainly stacks of fun to be had in PokerStars biggest ever Play Money event. There are up to three tourneys running each day from now until July 13 – to find one that tickles your fancy, check out the full tournament schedule here.
