Starting today: Dive into the archives with PokerStars Retro

March 04, 2021inPoker

If you like nothing more than to kick back with some poker on the box, then Thursdays might be about to become your favourite day of the week.

Starting today at 15:00 UK/16:00 CET we’re going to be streaming some of the classic events from the PokerStars archives.

We call it PokerStars Retro.

Each week you’ll get a trip back through some of the signature events that put the boom into online poker and turned ordinary players into heroes. Whether that was in Asia, Latin America, or even North America, when such things were still permitted.

The stream will cover different events each week, with a modern take. The APPT featuring heavily in these first weeks, with each broadcast roughly two and a half hours long. Plenty of time to get a proper dose of poker either before you hit the tables, or to watch while you play.

“Old poker. New commentary.”

James Hartigan and Joe Stapleton will be hosting the stream, with the Asia Pacific Poker Tour first up from all the way back in August 2007.

While you scratch your head working out where you were nearly 14 years ago, we can tell you that our cameras were in Manilla and Seoul, which is where today’s events are from.

It all starts today at 15:00 UK/ 16:00 CET.

You can follow the action on Twitch or on YouTube. Use any of the links below.
