SCOOP 2016: dntfrgtame plugs the hole and defeats Tom ‘hitthehole’ Middleton to win Turbo Super-KO Event #55-H ($1,050 NL Ultra-Deep PSKO)

May 23, 2016

Pretty much everyone is surprised that Tom ‘hitthehole’ Middleton didn’t win this SCOOP tournament, even dntfrgtame, who won actually won it.

From the start of the final two tables in Event #55-H Turbo PSKO, hitthehole was in peak form. He was a cross somewhere between the Terminator and Predator wiping out every opponent in his path. hitthehole amassed a ginormous stack the size of Mt. Everest and proceeded to pick off the first half of the final table with minimal effort. He even took out two players at once to kick things off at the final table. That auspicious start seemed like an omen or precursor of what’s to come. Alas, once it got three-handed, things went sideways for hitthehole. His magic seemed to…run thin…and he coughed up the lead. He still managed to get heads-up for the bracelet, but it was over as fast as it began. When dntfrgtame landed a haymaker, Tom ‘hitthehole’ Middleton hit the canvas and was unable to answer the count.

Tom ‘hitthehole’ Middleton settled for a second-place effort, while Latvia’s dntfrgtame waltzed into the winner’s circle as the newest SCOOP champion. If you add up all the KO-bounties plus the first-place prize in this turbo-charged event, dntfrgtame earned $156K, which is a juicy payday for only five hours of work.

Tom ‘hitthehole’ Middleton denied a SCOOP; Turbo Super-KO runner-up
By the way… Turbo Ultra-Deep Progressive Super-Knockout… sounds like the name of a hipster band from Brooklyn that would be opening up for the Arctic Monkeys. The high-end version of Event #55-H $1,050 NL Turbo, Ultra-Deep, Progressive Super-KO (a.k.a. TUDPSKO) attracted 1,335 runners. They created a total prize pool of $1,335,000.00. Half of it was split between the regular prize pool and the bounty prize pool or $667,500 each. The top 153 places paid out with $115,210.50 initially set aside to the champ.

With two tables to go, Denmark’s scorpio04 led with 8.7M until hitthehole chipped up to over 9M and rocketed to the top of the pack. hitthehole was just waking up and ready to embark on a heater. Once he got going, you couldn’t stop him. He literally had one switch — ON. He only had one speed — supersonic. He began vacuuming up chips on his short table and even sent aalloonn home on the final table bubble in tenth place when he outflopped aalloonn’s A♣J♥ with Q♠5♠.
