While the summer sun is beating hard outside, the heat is definitely on inside City of Dreams Manila, Philippines with players burning up the tables for the last Day 1 flight of the PokerStars Live Manila P1 Million Guarantee.
With cards flying, there are a good number of notables already working their chips such as Myung Ho Han, Jae Chul Chang, Seck Hwan Song, Kwan Kit Kwok, Raymi Sanchez, and Mike Takayama.
The event began on Thursday, May 14, 2015 for Day 1A with 134 entries eager to make the cut, and by the end of the night, 10 players survived. At last night’s Day 1B, a total of 8 out of 105 entries qualified, and later this evening, after Day 1C concludes, all the qualifiers will merge for tomorrow’s final day. Currently, the overall chip leader of the 18 qualifiers is Byeongcheol Kim of South Korea who ended the day with 345,500 chips.
The PokerStars Live Manila P1 Million Guarantee has a PHP4000 buy-in fee with unlimited re-entries until the end of Level 6. Blinds duration is 30 minutes. Only the top 7 percent of the field (per Day 1 flight) will qualify into Day 2 and will be guaranteed PHP15,000. Additionally, those who have already qualified from Day 1A and Day 1B are allowed to try for another seat. If players end up qualifying with more than one seat, then their largest stack will move on to Day 2 and extra stack(s) will be removed from play. Extra qualifying stacks will also be awarded PHP15,000.
