Chip building
PokerStars qualifier Dominykas Karmazinas, from Lithuania, is enjoying himself in Kyiv – and has shot up past the 46,000 mark.

On a board already showing 5♥Q♥8♣J♥ he put out 1,550 after his opponent checked – enough to take the pot. It seems he’s been very busy since the start, with one player telling him: “You know you can respect my raises, you do not always have to call.”

Almost at a halt
Play has really slowed down during level two. With the excellent new structure in place there really is no need to rush play at this point. You can’t win a tournament at this stage but you can certainly lose it.

John Cernuto and Nikolay Evdakov both seemed more interested in talking to people on the rail than playing. Cernuto was conversing with Christophe Haller while Evdakov was happily speaking to a leggy blonde lady who seemed a foot taller than the diminutive Russian. No offense to Haller but I know who I’d rather be talking to!
