Once a full-time academic teaching college writing and literature, Martin currently teaches part-time at UNC Charlotte where he offers a course in American Studies, "Poker in American Film and Culture." His new book "Poker & Pop Culture: Telling the Story of America's Favorite Card Game" was published by D&B Poker in June 2019.
