Lex Live Adventure
“This has just been the most ridiculous day of my life,” Tom Parsons told PokerStars Blog on afternoon in early October, 2019. And it’s very easy to see why — although the craziness started a couple of days before. Parsons, who is a 21-year-old politics student at Queen’s University, Belfast, was in London for the Lex Live jamboree at Aspers Casino. He entered the “Lex Live Adventure“, which had him scavenging around the area (kissing a cardboard cut-out of Lex Veldhuis, among other things) to complete a series of tasks that would earn him entry to a freeroll tournament. He didn’t even know at the time he was puckering up for cardboard Lex that the ultimate prize, destined for the winner of the tournament, was a Platinum Pass to the PSPC. But he soon did, and the day ended with the pass in his hands.
“We all thought the prize would be a T-shirt or something, so when Lex told us the prize was a Platinum Pass, I just started shaking,” Parsons said.
Parsons is probably best known online as Predator410 and is a fellow poker streamer. His studies mean he doesn’t have enough time to play live, but when he fires up the PokerStars tables, he also turns on his Twitch stream. He says his PokerStars account often has more money in it than his actually bank account, especially when it is bolstered by subs to his channel. That’s particularly impressive given that he usually plays the micro-stakes, but he’s a real talent at that level. He even has a Micro Millions title.
Of course, it’s going to be a huge step up to play the PSPC next year in Barcelona, but he has the support of friends, family and the Twitch community roaring him on.
