Marcus Skowronek is a 47-year-old recreational player from Schkopau, in Germany, who won his Platinum Pass in a VIP freeroll held at the EPT Prague festival in December. Despite describing himself as a “an independent and successful entrepreneur”, he says that “my wife is the jackpot of my life”.
Friends introduced him to poker about eight years ago, and he plays online as “skow73”. More recently, he has also been playing live cash games and tournaments and has picked up a handful of results, including in a WSOP Circuit event in Rozvadov and in a WPT High Roller.
Even a min-cash at the PSPC would represent the biggest result so far of his poker career, but Skowronek is keeping his feet on the ground. “I was happy to win the Platinum Pass and hope that I can make the most out of it,” he said.
