Manuel López Fonseca

Spain

CEP Peralada

Manuel Lopez Fonseca earned his entry into the 2020 PokerStars Players No-Limit Hold’em Championship in Barcelona thanks to having topped the Campeonato España de Poker leaderboard. Having accumulated the most points throughout the year for his finishes at CEP stops to become the leaderboard champion, Fonseca not only won his Platinum Pass but also entries into all the CEP events the following year.

Originally from Colombia, Fonseca has been living in Madrid, Spain for the last 11 years where he can often be found playing at the Casino Madrid Torrelodones — mostly tournaments, but also cash games. He’s a big football fan as well, both as a spectator and player, although doesn’t get to play as often as he’d liked.

If his path to earning a Platinum Pass sounds familiar, that might be because it’s the same method Ramon Colillas followed on his way to becoming the 2019 PSPC Champion.

“Why can’t I be the next Ramon?” says Fonseca. “This is what I dream.”
