Road to PSPC Flipout
Thirty-five-year-old Cesar Esteban Romero won his Platinum Pass in a flipout tournament at the Road to PSPC event in his home town of Barcelona. It means he will only have a short commute to take place in the $25,000 PSPC event, where he could freeroll his way to several million euros.
He has played poker for many years, most notably around 2014 when he had a few results in low buy-in tournaments in Casino Barcelona. But he essentially gave up the game in the years after that, except for occasional home-games with friends and small tournaments online. However, the prospect of qualifying for the PSPC brought him back to the tables, and he won a satellite to the Road to PSPC event at which he then won the flipout.
“To be honest I am kind of frozen,” he said when asked what the victory meant. “I am aware that I can come out as a cold person right now, but I guess it just hasn’t sunk in yet.”
He received his Platinum Pass from Ramon Colillas, who went all the way to the PSPC title after winning his entry to the event in low buy-in tournaments across Spain.
