PAGCOR Chairman’s Cup: Big guns target last of the day ones

March 22, 2010

On our way out of the hotel this morning Tony Hachem was on his way in, looking slightly jet-lagged but chipper. He has reason to be happy, having just won ANZPT Perth and AUS$132,750. The jetlag look was because he did that yesterday, less than 18 hours ago.

Hachem is just one of the more than 100 players who will wrap up the first day of the PAGCOR Chairman’s Cup in Manila, the third flight before players converge for day two tomorrow.

That’s all seven levels away, plus a night’s sleep, as the last of the hopefully turn up, sign in, and take their seats for this APPT special event.

Yesterday 109 players were busted down to 59, while 44 survived day one. Today though, organisers expect the biggest flight of the lot, with the likes of Team PokerStars Australia’s Hachem and Eric Assadourian, along with Team PokerStars Asia’s Raymond Wu and Tae Jun Noh among the line up.

That’s all to look forward to with play due to start in just a few minutes.
