Dinner break has come and gone, putting us in the last four levels of Day 1.

Several things are going on right now. Our stomachs are digesting food, our minds are going around their usual circles and poker being is played.

And when poker is played, chips get lost.

Jose “Nacho” Barbero was one player to lose all his chips right after the dinner break. It was a pair vs. overcards situation and Barbero’s opponent hit an overcard to eliminate the Team Pro.

There will be no third LAPT championship for Barbero this trip, maybe next time.

Fellow Team PokerStars Pro Andre Akkari and Humberto Brenes are still in the race though. Akkari currently has about twice the average stack with 60,000.

But Brenes has some catching up to do. He’s currently sitting with 18,000.

The field has been whittled down to 170 players, but that number is dropping quickly.

The blinds have also gone up, in most tournaments this sometimes go by unnoticed, but not here.

Not anymore.

The floor decided to announce the increasing blinds with a sound clip from the iconic “Jaws” soundtrack.

As Brenes never fails to remind us, “The shark is hungry!”

We’re not hungry though, we just ate. If you’re hungry for some more video action though, we have some:
