High-rolling Katchalov next up for Isildur1’s SuperStar Showdown

February 07, 2011

There aren’t many people in poker who command the type of respect Eugene Katchalov gets. The man wins WCOOP bracelets. He wins WPT titles. He wins stack of cash on top of stack of cash. It’s not even been a full month since Katachalov won the $100,000 Super High Roller at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure for $1.5 millon. Now he’s ready to face off against Viktor “Isildur1” Blom.

Due to turn 30 this month, Katachlov has already amassed more than $6 million in live winnings. He’s going to put a small chunk of that up against Isildur1’s skill and current streak of run-good.

PokerStars is set to announce today that Isildur1 and Katchalov will face off this coming Sunday, February 13 at 3pm ET for the next SuperStar Showdown.

By now, the SuperStar Showdown format has become pretty familiar. The game will again be played over four tables of $50/$100 NLHE for 2500 hands.

So far, Blom is 2-1 in SuperStar Showdowns. He lost the first one to Isaac Haxton, but won his next two against Tony G. and Daniel Cates. Now it’s Katchalov’s turn.

As always, you’ll be able to watch the match play out online. Katchalov will be playing under his longtime screen name “MyRabbiFoo.”

If you can’t watch Sunday afternoon, the PokerStars Blog will have a full wrap-up Sunday night with all the highlights.
