One minute your mood is up, the next minute down. Such is the life of a poker player intent on wearing the most bling at the final table.
Up until this point Kersten Nielsen topped this category, wearing a baseball cap covered in gold that shines under the television lights. But he’s now in shadow thanks to the oh so familiar sight of Finnish men in sequined hats. Not, this time, Ilari Sahamies and Joni Jouhkimainen, but this year’s Finnish flag fliers Kimmo Kurko and Pasi Sormunen.
And playing the part of Ilari Sahamies: Pasi Sormunen
It’s becoming something of a tradition. Last year sight of Sahamies and co in sequined trilbies was an easy tell that drink had been taken. That much is not clear this time around, but hats were sent for at the break and hats were indeed delivered. Words was that Kurko and Sormunen would save them until they were heads-up. But given that they are first and second in the chip counts right now (Sormunen has the lead with 6,425,000, nearly 3 million ahead of Kurko) it was decided celebrations were called for early.
Still no sign of those special orange drinks that effect speech and balance.
