EPT San Remo: Numbers and money

April 19, 2009

We’ve been suffering some technical issues here in San Remo, meaning updates haven’t been coming quite as quickly as we, and probably you, would have liked. Still, we do have one very important nugget of information to impart, and it’s this: the prize pool for the most popular European Poker Tour event in its five-year history is €5,713,300. That represents a tournament of 1,178 entrants; 600 today in addition to yesterday’s 578.

The tournament director Thomas Kremser is working out just how the prizes will be distributed through the field — sneak preview: first place is slightly more than €1.5m, with €862,000 for second — and we’ll bring you that payout structure when Kremser has finished.
