Players have just returned from a 15-minute break, during which Lee Nelson will have taken an amble around the estate with the confidence of tournament chip leader.
Nelson recently accounted for Nuno Coelho, the PokerStars sponsored player from Portugal. One player raised early position, Coelho made it 17,000 from the cut-off and Nelson moved all in — something like 250,000 from behind. The under-the-gun raiser got out of the way but Coelho called, and showed pocket kings.
Nelson had A-K but spiked an ace on the river and Coelho was gone.
Likewise Chris Ferguson. “Jesus” was eliminated on the first hand after the break, ruining a great photo opportunity of him and the young Frenchman Tristan Clemencon. Clemencon, who made the final table in Deauville this season, arrived in a sinister black hoody and deposited himself in the seat next to Ferguson who, as ever, is dressed in black, with distinctive hat.
Ah well. There’s always next time.

Tournament update: Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier is also missing presumed out. His seat is vacant, suggesting he’ll need to settle for only the one near million-dollar live tournament cash this month.
