EPT Deauville: French Canadian

January 20, 2009

She’s always on the list as hailing from Canada, but French blood runs through Isabelle Mercier’s veins. And something about the air in France brings out the best in the Team PokerStars Pro: she made the final table here the last time we visited Deauville, and she’s already off to a flyer today.

“You see Isabelle Mercier has doubled up,” said Henri Frey, our new French blogger, off to a flyer himself at the French version of PokerStars blog. We have no hand details, and Mercier was focussed on another hand when we passed by moments ago, but her stack contains more than 20,000 at the end of level one.

Also flying high is Tero Kilkanen, from Finland. He flopped a set of nines, and all the money went in against a flopped flush.

The turn was the fourth nine for early quads and an early double up/elimination combo.
