EPT €25k High Roller: Welcome (back) to the Riviera

April 29, 2010

Monte Carlo can only really be contested by Las Vegas as the world epicentre of high rolling activity. A tax haven populated by young models, million and billionaire playboys and aging film stars Monte Carlo is a perfect setting for the EPT Grand Final and especially its €25,000 High Rollers event. Among the players buying into the tournament here on the French Riviera are Team PokerStars Pro’s Jason Mercier, Daniel Negreanu, Alex Kravchenko, Dennis Phillips and Vanessa Rousso – the defending champion no less – as well as high rollers Masaaki Kagawa and Viktor Blom. Another Team PokerStars Pro that is taking part deserves a mention of his own; John Duthie, founder of the European Poker Tour himself will be showing what he can do at the tables.

Will Vanessa Rousso be able to successfully defend her title here at Monte Carlo?

Other players that have all been seen circulating around the edges of today’s tournament are Sorel Mizzi, November Niner Antonie Saout and World Series legend Eric Seidel. The tournament is going to be deep in chips and super deep in quality as the big names of the game go at it from the off. Stay with us all day (as the final 24 of the main event also play down to a 8-handed final table) and we’ll bring you the big hands, the knockouts and, most importantly, the best rubdowns.
