EPT €25k High Roller: Demjan’s the man

May 01, 2009

EPTSandor Demjan (at least that is how he spelt his name on my notepad) is the current chip leader of the high roller, he just extracted around 32,000 chips from Michael Binger. He limped for 600 before calling Binger’s raise and then proceeding to bet 6,000, 8,000 and 16,000 on the flop turn and river of a 4♠10♣6♥K♦8♥ board. The American called him down but mucked when he got shown 10♦8♣ on the river by the man from Hungary.

David Eldar has doubled up through John Juanda after they played what looked to be a three-bet pot, Eldar betting 7,200 on the K♣6♦9♣ flop and then Juanda raised to 25,000. Eldar shrugged and moved in for not much more and Juanda called with K♦7♣, way behind Eldar’s A♥K♠. The turn was the J♦ and the river the 6♠ moving Eldar up to 85,000 and dropping Juanda to just 15,000.

Meanwhile Luke Schwartz looks primed and possibly ready to explode as he bets 3,400 on a J♣9♠5♣ flop but folds when he’s raised to 8,000. “I’m going to eat these cards…” before announcing to the table, “Right, I’m on uber-tilt.”

He immediately wins the next pot by raising and continuation betting a 3♦4♥3♥ flop, small steps, one at a time…
