PokerStars Macau has confirmed that Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier and Randy ‘nanonoko’ Lew will be coming to the 2012 Asia Championship of Poker(ACOP) which runs from October 26 to November 11 at the Grand Waldo Entertainment Complex in Macau.
“I’m very excited to come back to Macau” said ElkY. “I really love being there and playing poker in Asia. I hope it (the ACOP) will become a landmark in the poker circuit.”

The inaugural event features the HKD $100,000 (US $13,000) buy-in Main Event which boasts a HKD $10,000,000 (US $1.3M) guarantee.

Lew, who’s recognized for his online poker accomplishments, won his first major live tournament at APPT Macau last year and said, “The people made my experience a blast. That made that trip stand out over other tournaments I have traveled to.

“Poker is becoming increasingly popular over there. I’m coming back to Macau and I’m not going to be surprised when this tournament is bigger and the tournaments in Macau become one of the largest around the world.”

ElkY and Lew join a growing Team PokerStars contingent for the ACOP that already includes Angel Guillén, Celina Lin, Vivian Im, Bryan Huang, Raymond Wu, and recently signed Naoya Kihara.

The ACOP is an Official APPT event and former tour champions Jonathan ‘xMONSTERxDONGx’ Karamalikis (2010 APPT Sydney) and Sam Razavi (2012 APPT Melbourne) have also confirmed in addition to notables from the Asia-Pacific David Steicke, Jackie Glazier, reigning Asia Player of the Year Shaq Lin, and current top APOY ranked Yosuke Sekiya.
