I’m back in Florida, having returned from London a couple of weeks ago. The plan right now is to stay at home for most of November, aside from playing in one tournament in Jacksonville. I may, however, also make a trip to Montreal to play a big event there before Thanksgiving. Then in December I’ll play a few different events including possibly the two Alpha8 events (in St. Kitts and Las Vegas) and also EPT Prague.

When I was in London I played a ton of cash games online whenever I had any free time away from playing in the live events. I played a ton of 8 game cash, which is very enjoyable for me and despite losing a lot the first few days, I was able to recover most of my losses by the end of the trip.

It’s interesting how going abroad to play live events is now something that almost always involves playing online, too, at least for U.S. players like me. I felt like I needed to take advantage of the opportunity to play online while I was in London. I figured I could sleep, watch television and just relax more once I got home, but while in London — or whenever I go play in places outside the U.S. — I should take advantage of being able to play online as much as I can.

As far as how EPT London went- I played in four big tournaments without cashing in any. I was fairly deep in the main event, but ended up making a pretty big mistake to bust out (sounds extremely rare, I know). I busted around 50 spots from the money. Luckily, I had a pretty big piece of someone who won big on the trip, which made the trip a profitable one.

I’m looking forward to these last live events — the one in Jacksonville, the Alpha8s, and EPT Prague — and hopefully putting up some results to finish the year well. I just recently moved up to No. 2 in the overall Global Poker Index rankings and I’m No. 4 currently in the 2014 GPI Player of the Year race, so if I can string together a couple of scores I know I have a chance at moving up in both of those. I’m looking forward to regaining that number one spot!
