It’s one of those weekly events that remind you that all is well in the world. As long as the Sunday Million takes place (or a special edition of some sort), you can rest assured that the poker world is ticking along as it should be.
In fact when it comes to the Sunday Million, it’s been ticking along for nine years, which frankly sounds like a reason to celebrate.
And so we will, with a ninth anniversary edition of the Sunday Million that will make somebody somewhere a millionaire, and a few other people a couple of bucks along the way.
It’s all taking place on March 15, 2015* at 14:30 ET, with a $9 million guaranteed edition of the Sunday Million. You can buy-in directly for $215, or you can go the more adventurous route, with satellites for as little as $1, setting up the potential spin-up of a lifetime.
And it’s some spin-up. Take a look at how much the past three anniversary winners have walked away with.
2014: DrUPSWING (Germany) $1,038,540
2013: benislovas (Lithuania) $848,589
2012: slyfox151 (Netherlands) $480,761
2011: Luke “Bdbeatslayer” Vrabel (United States) $670,000, and a Lambourghini Gallardo
We like to keep things tense right up until the off, so with that in mind we’ll be hosting two last minute Deadline Satellites for the tournament, a last chance to be part of this once in a year opportunity. They’ll take place at 13.30 ET and 13.45 ETon March 15.
The first will have 1,000 seats guaranteed, with an $11 buy-in, while the other will have 333 seats guaranteed, with a $33 buy in. What’s more they’ll also be feeder satellites into the $11 buy-in satellite, starting at just $1, as well as similar events with a buy-in of just 50 Frequent Player Points.
As if by coincidence those hourly feeder satellites start today!
Here’s how to find them:
If you’re accessing the PokerStars client through your desktop simply go to the Online Events tab in the Main Lobby.
If you’re accessing PokerStars on a mobile device, select “lobby” from menu options at the bottom of the screen, then scroll to “tourney”. Type “Sunday Million” into the filter and you should find what you’re looking for.
In the meantime we’ll see you at the start line for what promises to be another PokerStars event to remember, more so if you happen to win a million dollars.
For more details of the Sunday Million 9th Anniversary, and how to play, go to the Sunday Million Anniversary homepage.
*A previous version of this story reported the event would be held on March 8. That date has been changed to March 15.
