It’s pretty darned easy these days for a weekend to come and go as quickly as it takes our Friday happy hour drinks to disappear. While we all had our heads turned to Newcastle for the UKIPT event, Friday turned into Monday. Somewhere in that blur, PokerStars had a pretty big weekend.
The weekend kicked off with the return of the SuperStar Showdown. Viktor “Isildur1” Blom had his long-awaited meeting with Rui “PepperoniF” Cao. If you’re just tuning in, you might be interested to know Blom dismantled Cao in fewer than 2,500 hands. To see how he did it, read Kristin Bihr’s wrap-up right here: SuperStar Showdown: Blom felts Cao for $150,000 in 2,257 hands.
When that finished, our attention turned to the final table of the Sunday Warm-Up where more than 3,000 people showed up for a shot at a life-changing Sunday win. Martin Harris has the story: febalinha finds a way, wins 6/19/11 Sunday Warm-Up
The Sunday Million once again easily beat its $1 million guarantee. Nearly 6,000 players showed up for the world’s biggest weekly event. Jen Newell has the story right here: Gunderstedif grabs victory after three-way chop in Sunday Million.

Good luck in the coming week. And don’t forget, this Saturday’s kickoff of the brand new Saturday Line-Up!
