2014 Macau Millions: Late start, early birds

Chips are riffling, players are staring each other down and chicken feet are being munched on.

Day 1D of the 2014 Macau Millions is underway.

The chip riffling and intense stare downs are guaranteed to last the rest of the day, but not the chicken feet, we ran out on Day 1B*. Day 1B was the largest day with 157 players. Was. Day 1D crossed the 200 mark just 10 minutes into Level 1 and late registration is open for a full two hours.

While several players are expected to show up late, there were a early birds. Team PokerStars Pro Vivian Im has made her first appearance at the 2014 Macau Millions.

Seated in the back of the room — where some construction is going on — Im is looking to add to a major title from PokerStars LIVE to her resume.

Im already took down an APPT, winning APPT Cebu back in 2010 for $134,142 and came close to major victory in Macau. Im finished 2nd in a Red Dragon for $97,629 back in 2011 and has cashed more than a dozen times here since.

No major title though. Not yet at least.

Lacey Jones is also in the field. Jones was the last woman standing in Day 1C but finished in 15th place. Jones showed up early, paced around the tournament area before it started and is now battling to make it to the final seven percent, which is currently about 16 players.

While Jones finished just short of making it to Day 2, a few other players in the crossed that threshold.

Jack Lee and Alexandre Chieng have already qualified and are giving it another go. In fact, Chieng has already made it twice and is looking to be the first player to ever make it three times.

There are several records that can be broken this Macau Millions, stay tuned to find out how many fall.
