John Duthie is normally one of the more articulate interview subjects. He knows his stuff, is well spoken and is always willing to oil the wordsmiths' writing machinery. Today, though, as he arrived to take his place in the last eight of the $10,000 World Heads-up Championship he had only one thing to say. Well, three words actually...
"Kill. Kill. Kill!"
So there you have it. Team PokerStars Pro Duthie (creator of the EPT - see new Season 6 schedule here) has his fighting hat on, and is preparing to take aggression to the table where he meets Steve O'Dwyer.
With Duthie in such confident mood, and with his great heads-up record behind him (runner-up in PokerStars' $25,000 SCOOP heads-up event), I might be a little fearful if I were O'Dwyer. But I'm not O'Dwyer, and who am I to guess someone's state of mind?
Each of the remaining players are guaranteed $92,580, with the winner pocketing $625,682.
Here are the last four matches, the fifth set of match-ups since the original 256 players began two days ago:
Leo Wolpert v Dustin Woolf
Jamin Stokes v Johnny Chan
Nathan Doudney v Bryan Pellegrino
John Duthie v Steve O'Dwyer.
