UKIPT Manchester: Joeri Zandvliet wins the UKIPT Manchester

                      UKIPT
What a day. In just the second leg of the inaugural United Kingdom and Ireland Poker Tour we've had a final table that had it all. Penalties and blow-ups, suck outs and hero calls have flashed out throughout the day like forked lightning during a storm. And after the clouds cleared we were left with Dutchman Joeri Zandvliet and Englishman Jack Ellwood heads up. Zandvliet had weathered the bad weather because everything rolled off him like water from a duck's back while Ellwood managed to navigate the choppy swells by avoiding any major mistakes in the big pots. The final ...more

Day 2

UKIPT Manchester: Day 2 end of play wrap

Ellwood

There were 122 players that came back today at 2pm, removed their chips and stacked them nicely in front of them. All through this process a two-stage plan will have been on a lot of the player's minds. The first stage was all about number 72. Why? That's the magic...more

1:20am: Day 2 is Ooooover From the depths appeared a man (who wasn't American despite a colleague's erstwhile protests) who took his stack from a middling 300,000 to well over a million in the last couple of levels... but more about him in the wrap. Chip counts to come shortly......more

The UKIPT is a tour that has aimed to hit that middle ground so often missed; players that want more than a £50 freezeout but don't necessarily want to stump up the €5,000 buy-in for an EPT event, and by the looks of today it's hit the target slap bang...more
