As the Stars Tweet: The LAPT Grand Final & Negreanu's laidback week

The Grand Final of the Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) Season 5 kicked off on November 14 in Lima, Peru, and featured a slew of side events to compliment the $2,500 Main Event. Needless to say, a number of Team PokerStars Pros travelled to the Atlantic City Casino to take their shot at one of the year's most celebrated titles, including the ever-dangerous Vanessa Selbst.

Unfortunately for the two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, she wasn't able to get anything going. "Already busted LAPT, got lucky in one pot to double then lost KK

Another Team PokerStars Pro in attendance was Angel Guillen. "Arrived in Lima. Had four solid hours of sleep, Happy to b back, feeling like having a morning pisco (I will not) and some ceviche (I probably will)," the Mexican pro tweeted upon his arrival. Like Selbst, Guillen was unable to do anything in the Main Event, but he took full advantage of the side events. "Trying to lock the LAPT Player of the Year so I'm multi-tabling the High Roller and the $ 500 turbo. Do not like it but I kinda Have to!" Guillen explained. Indeed, Guillen sat atop the LAPT Season 5 Player of the Year Leaderboard with 1,650 points, 400 points ahead of his rival Christian Alejandro Sare.

One Team PokerStars Pro who did have success in Peru was Jose "Nacho" Barbero, who won the LAPT Lima back in 2010 for $250,000. Barbero managed to navigate the field of 376 players on his way to making his fourth LAPT final table.

"About to start the final table of @ PokerStarsLAPT Grann end! I have 850k avg 583k blinds 10-20000! Or look at the payouts # onemoretimepliz," the back-to-back LAPT champ tweeted prior to the final table on Sunday. Unfortunately the Argentinian wasn't able to win his third title as he ultimately finished in sixth place for $36,070; however, he did bring hit total LAPT winnings up to $599,170, giving him the all-time lead by more than $184K.

Meanwhile, in the northern hemisphere, Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu had a quiet non-poker week, but that didn't stop him from tweeting about two other topics; the Survivor TV series and video games. It's been rumored for years that Negreanu was once sought out for the hit television show Survivor, which is now in its 25th season, but that it never materialized. Only time will tell if "Kid Poker" will try his hand at reality TV, but in the meantime he's be watching plenty of it.

Kid Poker: hard at work during this year's PCA

"Abby on #Survivor should be a lock to make the final 3 because everyone hates her and she has zero chance to win the game. Smart to keep her," Negreanu tweeted to his fans during this week's episode. "If asked: what are the attributes you dislike most in a woman? See Abby on #Survivor. Her personality is one I simply cannot deal with." He also gave his opinion on one of his favorites: "Penner is doing a solid job of working with very little to give himself a chance. Really impressed with the seeds hes planting etc #Survivor."

Negreanu was also busy getting his game on, video game that is. "NHL 13' is amazing. The last 1st person shooter I played was Halo the original. Call of Duty Black Ops II is quite an upgrade#Whyleavehome," Negreanu tweeted on Wednesday, a day after Call of Duty Black Ops II earned $500 million in its first 24 hours on the market. He also included a pic of his video game collection:

The LAPT Grand Final is in the books, which means the 2013 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure is just around the corner. Of course all your favorite Team PokerStars Pros will be out in force for that event, and that'll no doubt make for an interesting future edition of 'As the Stars Tweet'.
