Tetsuya Tsuchikawa wins Event 4 in Macau

Late Tuesday night, Japan's Tetsuya Tsuchikawa won the HKD $3,000 NLH Turbo side event at the Macau Poker Cup (MPC) hosted by PokerStars Macau.

He beat the 158-player field and collected HKD $101,400 for his effort in the fast paced, one-day event. The tournament prize pool exceeded HKD $400,000 and paid out 19 players.

The win represents Tsuchikawa's second career Official Asia Player of the Year Event title and the poker pro now tops the all-time rankings list for Japan -- previously held by Hirotoshi Nakabo.

The final table included Team PokerStars Pro Vivian Im and Hong Kong's Fu Man Tin who was making his second final table appearance in two days. Neither was able to gain any steam and were amongst the early eliminations as Im and Tin busted in 8th and 9th place respectively.

Like the tournament's name suggests, the action moved at a rapid pace and even the heads-up battle was short lived between Taiwanese Morgan Lee and Tsuchikawa. Barely 10 minutes into the duel, Lee moved his 400,000 stack and Tsuchikawa, who had 1.4 million chips, made the quick call.

Lee: K♥8♥

Tsuchikawa: A♥4♣

A flop of 7♠2♣A♣ pulled the Japanese player ahead with top pair and a turn-river of 4♠ and A♠ secured the victory.
