Thirty already confirmed for $100,000 PCA Super High Roller

It looks like it's going to be a big one, folks.

With more than two weeks until the kickoff of the third annual PCA $100,000 Super High Roller event, organizers say they already have 30 people signed up to play the tournament. Among them are a former Super High Roller champion, several members of Team PokerStars Pro, some top big-name pros, and, once again, venture capitalist Bill Perkins.

The people behind the Super High Roller have a policy of not releasing the entrants' names unless the player consents. Of the thirty people who have signed up, here are the 14 who have given the okay to release their information.

  • Jonathan Duhamel
  • Tony Gregg
  • Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier
  • Philipp Gruissem
  • Isaac Haxton
  • Phil Hellmuth
  • John Juanda
  • Eugene Katchalov
  • Tom Marchese
  • Jim McCrink
  • Jason Mercier
  • Daniel Negreanu
  • Bill Perkins
  • Scott Seiver

  • As you likely already know, Katchalov won the very first Super High Roller in 2011, defeating Daniel Negreanu in a heads-up battle for the ages. The next year, Viktor Blom came in and made the Super High Roller his first major tournament victory.

Now, we look ahead to this year's event. With 30 people signed up so far, it's no stretch to suggest that the $100,000 event could break its 2011 record of 38 runners. The Super High Roller kicks off the 2013 PCA festivities on January 5th. It will run for three days, all of which will be covered for television.

Along with the prestige of playing the Super High Roller, its players get a few extra little perks. Each entrant will get four complimentary nights at The Cove in Atlantis, $1,000 to spend on food and drink, plus a limo from the airport.

Now that we've see this list, the question is...who are the other 16 people signed up, and who else is still on the fence?
