Brazil’s Alex Gomes is one of the best players to emerge from South America. In the space of just a few years he’s managed to rack up millions in tournament cashes. He won a World Series of Poker* bracelet in the $2,000 No Limit Hold’em event in 2008 for $770,540, followed a few months later by a fourth place finish at the 2009 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) for another $750,000. He then went on to win his first WPT title at the Bellagio Cup in July 2009, good for a huge payday of $1,187,670. Alex plays online at PokerStars using the screen name ‘Allingomes’.
