MicroMillions4: jagtwins wins Event #60 ($1+R NLHE, 3x-Turbo)

With five players remaining, this tournament was julia753's to lose. Holding 68% of the chips in play, julia753 was the only player who had the luxury to wait for good spots in the face of the stratospheric blinds. Instead, julia753 continued with the same strategy that got him to the final table in the first place-- fearless, if not reckless, shoving. It gave jagtwins the opportunity to come up the middle and make a late-game surge to win Event #60 ($1+R NLHE, 3x-Turbo).

27,576 players made 135,377 rebuys and 15,049 add-ons at a dollar apiece, creating a $161,981.82 prizepool that more than doubled the $75k guarantee. 3,600 places were paid with first place set to earn $15,413.84. A quintet of Red Spades-- Maxim Lykov, Martin Hruby, Tyler "frosty012" Frost, Mickey "mement_mori" Petersen, and Grzegorz "DaWarsaw" Mikielewicz-- joined the field, but all missed out on a cash.

Blinds were 2.75M/5.5M on the final table bubble. Bispoland took A♥Q♦ up against jagtwins's T♦T♥ for his last 45.4 million, but jagtwins flopped a set to send Bispoland home in tenth place.

Julia753 sets phasers to destroy

This final table didn't start so much with a bang as it did a nuclear detonation. Short stack DESaNT33 shoved for 14.9 million from UTG, jagtwins flat-called from middle position and Viiish.... reshoved for 51.7 million in the hijack. Julia753 flat-called the 51.7 million on the button, and jagtwins put in an additional 36.8 million in to see the flop. It fell A♠4♠2♥ and jagtwins led out for 18 million. Julia753 shoved for 90 million and jagtwins called.

jagtwins A♣9♠
julia753 A♥J♥
Viish.... J♣J♦
DESaNT33: 9♣9♦

The turn and river came the 4♦ and the 5♦, julia753 scooping the main pot and both side pots. Julia753 moved up to 364.5 million, eliminating DESaNT33 in ninth ($809.90) and Viish.... in eighth ($1,376.84).

Julia753 took a one-hand breather as Sarhato doubled through PSP2012, his K♣J♦ flopping a king vs. pocket nines. But on the hand after that, julia753 picked up A♠T♣ and called Dorothea69's 66.2 million three-bet shove. Dorothea69 was in great shape with pocket kings on the 9♥9♦5♥ flop, but julia753 turned the A♥ to snap them off. Dorothea69 hit the rail in seventh place, collecting $2,024.77.

Julia753 sinks Sarhato, doubles duo

Julia753 continued a wrecking-ball approach to this final table, making Sarhato Victim #4. Dealt 8♦T♥, julia753 opened for a min-raise to 14 million, then called Sarhato's 85.5 million small blind shove. Sarhato revealed A♥Q♥ and hit the nut flush draw to go with his overcards on the J♦7♥6♥ flop, but julia753 still found a way to win. The 5♣ and the 4♦ came on the turn and river, running cards that made julia753 an eight-high straight and ended Sarhato's run in sixth place ($2,915.67).

Julia753 seemed unstoppable at this point, holding 68% of the chips in play with five players remaining. However, in the rush to knock out more players, julia753 gave away a couple of double-ups with some very loose calls. Jagtwins was the first to benefit, shoving for 57.9 million from the cutoff with Q♣T♥. Julia753 called with 4♣6♦ on the button and did not improve. Two hands later, julia753 led out for 8 million holding 5♣7♣ on a 8♣8♦5♠ flop. 77morozik77 raised to 16 million, julia753 three-bet to 88 million and 77morozik77 called all-in for 35.6 million. 77morozik77 revealed Q♦Q♠ and hung on to win the 151.2 million pot.

Jagtwins jumps up to second in chips

Jagtwins scored another double-up through julia753, his A♠Q♥ making a wheel against Q♣T♦ to take him up to 241 million. On the next deal, finanças Str finally found a hand to go with and shoved for his last 4.5 big blinds with A♥K♥. PSP2012 called with Q♥T♦ in the small blind and hit top pair on the Q♦8♥7♥ flop, but finanças Str made the nut flush on the turn with the T♥. PSP2012 did not boat up on the 9♣ river and finanças Str doubled to 82.8 million.

PSP2012 was left with 66.5 million, the blinds sky-high at 4M/8M. He moved in from the button with A♦2♦ a few hands later, jagtwins looking him up with K♠3♠ in the big blind. PSP2012 flopped a deuce but a three came with it, making jagtwins middle pair. Jagtwins caught a king on the turn, the river blanked, and PSP2012 was out in fifth place, earning $4,373.50.

finanças Str falls in fourth

As the blinds increased to 4.5M/9M, finanças Str found T♥T♠ in the small blind and three-bet shoved for 40.8 million. Initial raiser julia753 called with A♣4♦ and outflopped finanças Str when he made top pair on the A♦[8d3♣ flop. The 8♣ on the turn made julia753 aces up, but finanças Str spiked a two-outer on the river, the T♦ falling to make him a full house. Finanças Str doubled to 94.3 million, but it was still only about ten big blinds. Two hands later finanças Str open-shoved with 9♠9♥ from UTG and julia753 called with A♦T♣. Finanças Str made two pair on the K♣7♣7♥ flop, but julia753 caught running clubs to make flush and send him home in fourth place ($5,831.34).

Jagtwins takes out 77morozik77

As play turned three-handed, julia753 was still the runaway chip leader with 614 million, jagtwins was second with 233 million and 77morozik77 the short stack with 93 million. 77morozik77 got his last ten big blinds in with a dominated hand, his A♠8♦ up against jagtwins's A♣Q♦. However, 77morozik77 hit a lucky turn card, the 8♠ falling to pair his kicker. 77morozik77 improved to a flush on the river and doubled to 196 million.

77morozik77's double-up left jagtwins on the short stack... but not for long. Holding pocket threes, jagtwins got his stack in preflop against julia753's A♠8♦. Throw in a few bonus chips from 77morozik77 (who called the initial raise but foded to jagtwins's shove) and jagtwins was suddenly a real contender with 344 million in chips.

77morozik77 continued to shed chips, finding himself down to 89 million with the blinds up to 5M/10M. The last of his chips went in before the flop against both julia753 and jagtwins. The flop fell K♥3♠2♦ and jagtwins check-called 40 million from julia753. They checked down the A♦ on the turn and the 7♣ on the river, jagtwins turning up A♣J♠ for the win. Julia753 mucked and 77morozik77 was eliminated in third place, taking home $7,289.18.

Heads-up chip counts

Seat 5: jagtwins (513,918,310 in chips)
Seat 7: julia753 (426,410,690 in chips)

Heads-up play was brief and brutal, taking all of three hands. There was no deal, there wasn't even the suggestion of one-- just one massive pot and a seriously lucky river card for jagtwins, who paired his kicker with A♠5♠ against A♥J♦.

Congratulations to jagtwins on an excting, come-from-behind win in the MicroMillions! He picked up $15,413.84 while runner-up julia753 earned $11,235.05.
