LAPT to kick off Season 5 in Chile

lapt-promo.gifIt's only been a few days since the close of the Latin American Poker Tour's fourth season in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Those of us who were there can still taste the cachaça in our mouths, hear the samba music outside, and see another big season on the LAPT come to a close. This morning, the LAPT announced it will be kicking off its next season next month in Chile.

Season 5 of the LAPT will open in Vina del Mar, Chile March 21-25. Last season, the Chile National Poker Championship pulled in 621 players and introduced us to champion Murilo Figueredo. This year, the LAPT is expecting a monster field and upped the cap on the event to 1,000 players.

After it leaves Chile, the LAPT has tournaments planned all over South America in Uruguay, Colombia, and Peru.

LAPT President David Carrion said, "Chile and Colombia proved to be record-making destinations in Season 4 and a new demographic opened up with the lower buy-in events. Season 5 will focus on delivering an A-class poker experience to players at all levels."
