Overlay rumours as Day 1B of the €500,000 Monaco Cup begins

There could be a tasty overlay here in The Monaco Cup with its €500,000 guaranteed prize pool looking some way off at the moment. Yesterday pulled in 109 players and so far 78 players have sat down today, meaning the prize pool is currently juiced with more than €300,000! Of course, you can still register today and Day 1C starts tomorrow, allowing players who have already busted to jump back into the action.

The tournament is running in the main room of the Salles des Etoiles with the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT Grand Final taking place on the main stage. It's expected that the winner will take home more than €100,000 in prize money (or much more, in case of an overlay).

Registration is open today until 2.15pm and those already in seats include Dany Parlafes, Ronny Voth, Richard Milne and Josh Prager.

Play ended yesterday with 22 players making it through. American player David Peters leads with 140,000 and Team PokerStars Pro Matthias De Meulder is thriving with 104,000. German Team PokerStars Pro Jan Heitmann made it to Day 2 with 42,900 in chips. Also still in are Adam Levy, Ricardo Sousa, Yngve Steen and Kaspars Renga.
