Per Linde maintains lead ahead of EPT Copenhagen final

It has been another day for Swedish rejoicing at the EPT Copenhagen as three players from the other side of the bridge made it through to the final table of the main event, led from the start by the untouchable Per Linde, who bags up 4,980,000 tonight.

Linde's lead is some three million ahead of PokerStars qualifier Kevin Iacafano in second place, who closed on 1,844,000. Day 4 took little more than seven levels of play to complete, a period that would have been shorter had man hours not been needed to shift Linde's stack between tables. He returns tomorrow the clear favourite to lift EPT silverware.

Linde, who had a deep run at EPT San Remo last year and who followed that with a third place at WPT Paris, was faced with no easy task, up against a talented field that included Michael Tureniec, Juha Helppi, John Eames and Kevin Iacofano; each top grade players who will make tomorrow's final one of the best, and most fiercely contested, in some time.

Between them they saw off the opposition. They included the likes of Team PokerStars Pro Florian Langmann and Jan Sorensen (the former well chipped at the start), two players certainly expected to advance. They fell in 19th and 18th place respectively.

Reduced to two tables Ivan Freitez, from Venezuela, followed in 16th, joined a short while later by Lars Krogh, Simen Johannessen and Simon Hanninger. The departure of Joel Nordkvist in ninth place wrapped up the day's play. Here's how the final table will line up:

Seat 1 - Andrea Dalle Molle, Italy, 417,000
Seat 2 - Per Linde, Sweden, 4,980,000
Seat 3 - Nikolas Liakos, Sweden, 1,493,000
Seat 4 - Mudassar Khan, Denmark, 823,000
Seat 5 - Kevin Iacofano, USA, PokerStars qualifier, 1,844,000
Seat 6 - John Eames, UK, 1,060,000
Seat 7 - Michael Tureniec, Sweden, 1,310,000
Seat 8 - Juha Helppi, Finland, 1,470,000

They return tomorrow at noon when they will play until just one man remains. That player will lift an EPT trophy and earn a first prize of DKK 3,700,000 (€496,271). Copenhagen has a habit of putting together some curiosities, especially on the final day. Join us tomorrow to see how things turn out.

As always all this is available in German, Swedish and Dutch courtesy of our foreign bloggers, and photography today was brought to you by Neil Stoddart.

As our colleague Marc Convey mentioned during his debut stint in the EPT Live commentary box, we're now heading out into the minus three degree night to find steaks and beer. Read about whether or not we survive on the PokerStars Blog tomorrow.

In the meantime, here's the Final Four with Gloria Balding and Rick Dacey...

See you tomorrow.
