EPT Copenhagen: Thor hammers back

Jussi Nevanlinna started it, and Jussi Nevanlinna finished it. It was the hand which saw another notable departure with Jonas Molander, a veteran of the EPT without appearing to have aged, busted as play charges towards the money.

With a pre-flop Nevanlinna bet of 5,500 the action was folded to Molander who with a simple flick of a finger announced he was all-in. Nevanlinna asked for a count. Molander had 55,400 a stack only narrowly out-chipped by Nevanlinna who then moved in himself, pushing his chips in the old fashioned way.

Nevanlinna asked Molander if he had a pair, but the Swede showed A-8. That left Nevanlinna ahead with A-J which was granted safe passage through flop, turn and river. Molander was done.

Fortunes have been varied for Thor Hansen, second in chips going into today, he had the same chips he'd started with four levels later.

Until now...

Shortly after the dinner break Hansen limped into a pot form the small blind holding 5♣-4♣. The big blind called for a T♦-6♣-3♣ flop. A bet, raise and a Hansen all-in followed with the big blind showing T-6 for two pairs. The turn was a blank and things looked grim for Hansen, until the 9♣ on the river gave the Swede a flush for an almost anabolic increase to 140,000.
