The returning field for Event 08

NeedBeat’s $55 sweet treat

The weekend holdover in yesterday’s High Roller Series action was Event 05, a $5,200 Progressive KO event.

Highlighting the 13 players who returned to battle for the title was Simon “C.Darwin2” Mattsson, the former world #1 who’s currently ranked #8 in the world by PocketFives. But after almost five hours of play on Day 2 Mattsson was out in fourth place and Estonia’s “NeedBeat” had outlasted the field.

The win was impressive enough on its own for coming against a stacked field for the highest stakes. But the added twist — NeedBeat’s $164K prize was a spin-up from a $55 satellite win — made it the day’s top story.

How big a return on investment was that, anyway?” you might be asking yourself. The answer: 2,992.02 percent.

Four more satellite winners score in Monday action

Roo_400 represented satellite winners with a huge runner-up finish in the opening event of this series. Yesterday NeedBeat and four more satellite winners turned a small investment into a huge return with their performances in High Roller events.

The other big returns on the day belonged to Canada’s ianbel (15th place in Event 09, $1,050 PLO), Germany’s nikoinista (46th place in Event 10, $530 8-Max PKO), Canada’s birddy420 (13th place in Event 05, $5,200 8-Max PKO), and Croatia’s danielsansb (4th place in Event 10, $530 8-Max PKO).

It took a total of $126.30 for these four players to win their seats, while their collective take was worth more than $27,000.
