Michigan online poker players have been coming out in large numbers for the first ever Michigan Championship of Online Poker on PokerStars MI.
The 60-tournament MICOOP is reaching its exciting conclusion this weekend, and PokerStars MI has decided to make the two-day $300 buy-in Main Event a little more exciting.
After doubling the guaranteed prize pools for all MICOOP tournaments last weekend, PokerStars MI is increasing another guarantee, this time for the Main Event.
What had been a $125,000 Main Event guaranteed prize pool is now $200,000. Cards go in the air Sunday, Mar. 7 at 5 p.m. Late registration is open for the first three hours and 45 minutes, during which time players can re-enter up to five times.
Through 46 events, more than $1.47 million has been awarded so far. All but three of those events have had prize pools exceed guarantees, in some cases doubling or tripling them (and once even quadrupling!).
“We are heading into the final stretch of what has been a fantastic run in Michigan where we have had thousands of entries and record prize pools,” said Rebecca McAdam Willetts, PokerStars Associate Director of Group Public Relations.
“We are thrilled to increase the value on offer to our players competing in the Main Event.”
There are plenty of Main Event satellites available to play leading up to Sunday’s big one. Also, don’t forget about the Main Event Depositor Freeroll, also on Sunday, Mar. 7.
PokerStars MI players who deposit at least $30 between now and just before the Main Event starts while using the code “MICOOP” will get a ticket into the freeroll. The tournament will award 35 free seats into the MICOOP Main Event.
In fact, several events in addition to the Main Event have had guarantees increased over the MICOOP’s final week. Here’s the schedule of remaining events with updated guarantees:
