The end of the beginning

Adios Barcelona.

There's been sun, rain, thunder and poker. And now, but for the tinkling of the casino's house pianist, it's dry and quiet.

The television crews are packing up the set, the players are either drinking their Euros or drowning their bad beats at the bar. The bloggers are blogging. It's what they do.

So, the final result. Of the 327 players who entered, 27 made the money. Eight made rather a lot of it for their Saturday evening under the studio lights.

Have a look at what they won:

1st - €416,000 (plus €10,000 buy-in into EPT Grand Final) - Jan Boubli (France)
2nd - €228,000 - Christer Johansson (Sweden)
3rd - €117,000 - Patrik Antonius (Finland)
4th - €91,000 - Patrick Mortensson (Sweden)
5th - €78,000 - Gus Hansen (Denmark)
6th - €65,000 - Anton Bergstroem (Sweden)
7th - €52,000 - Dario Alioto (Italy)
8th - €39,000 - Romain Feriolo (Spain)

The travelling EPT roadshow rolls into London next for the Grosvenor Poker Masters at London's Victoria casino from September 30-October 2. It's a £3,000 buy-in and there'll be full coverage at www.pokerstarsblog.com.

The fun is only just beginning. Be sure to follow the rest of the action here.

Vive la France

We have a winner - and his name is Boubli.

The EPT Barcelona champion: Jan Boubli

The Scandinavians came up short when Christer Johansson made a pair of twos on a flop showing two eights and a deuce. Jan Boubli, the former dentist from France, went through the motions as though he was having his own teeth extracted, before calling with king-queen.

The turn was a ten. No help. But the river provided all he needed. It was a queen and Boubli is our champion.

The final flop. Christer Johannson's ace-deuce was outdrawn by Jan Boubli's king-queen when the queen dropped on the river

Flushing them out

Mano a mano.

After a lengthy break, the players return to the table and are straight into the action. On a board of As-4s-Ah, Jan Boubli likes his 3h-4h and Patrik doesn't mind his Ks-3s. The flush draw is the get out, if his king high is no good.

But when the turn and river are both red and shaped like Saint Valentine, it's Jan who's flushing and Patrik who's walking.

Down to two.
