PokerStars weekend review (12-24-12)

Christmas is upon us. For some that means more chances to indulge in a little poker, for others it means taking one of just a few annual breaks. Whichever school of Xmas thought you fall into be rest assured that the poker world continues to rumble on. Let us fill you in as you relax into your holiday slippers and get nibbling on what's likely not your first - and certainly not your last - mince pie.

Don't forget to leave a seat open for Santa

  • SantaClaus is a generous poker player. He'll just lump money into pots and not even play the hand... the massive bearded belly-laughing fish. Starting today (24 Dec) SantaClaus will be hitting the PokerStars cash game tables and will be gifting players cash-dollar presents (of up to $50) until the end of 26 Dec.That really is the spirit of Christmas.

  • Are you a Supernova challenger? The race to be first Supernova or Supernova Elite kicks begins in the New Year - that's pretty soon - with some great added glory for the players that make it. Check out the details and how you can register here.

  • Let's also doff a Christmas cap at those players that cleared up over the weekend. Click here for results from the weekend regulars. You can also check out the Sunday Million and Sunday Warm-Up reports.

  • Among some of the great Team PokerStars Pro blogs you can find advice from Leo Fernandez about turning pro and, while you're at it, why not meet the new member of PokerStars Team Online: Tatiana 'Mysters_Y' Barausova is a Supernova Elite who crushes tournaments and the $25/$50 tables.

  • Christmas came early for Alexander Zaja who turned to PokerStars Mobile at the cinema and eventually cashed in at Snowfest for €31,500! Even failed movie trips can pay off these days.

  • Looking ahead to January you can start revving your engines for the Turbo Championship of Online Poker (TCOOP) or, if you fancy taking a shot, you can join the list of 30 names already signed up to play the $100,000 Super High Roller!
