Miguel Ángel Rodríguez wins in Valencia

ps_news_thn.jpgAfter five intense days of poker action, the Estrellas Valencia finished with Spanish player Miguel Ángel Rodríguez as the winner of the event. Rodríguez won the ESPT Valencia Main Event for €76,000 after making a three-way deal with runner-up PokerStars Qualifier Ruben Gonzalez Porcel (Spain) who earned €58,000 and third-placed Jaume Niell Alomar (Spain) who pocketed €50,100.

The second main event of the third season of the Estrellas Poker Tour was held at the Casino Valencia. A total of 387 players from 36 different countries played in this leg generating a prize pool of €371,520.

The final table started off with eight players. Finnish player Jarkko Ilari Mammela was the first to go to the cage where he picked up €10,200. Half an hour later Isaac Chapi Tolosa busted for €13,000. Belgian player Frederic Van Der Mersch went next, earning €16,700.

Just after the first break, PokerStars qualifier Mauricio Pazos exited in fifth with €20,450. Wim Eduard Neys, railed by Team PokerStars Pro Christophe de Meulder, went out sixth for €25,650. Shortly thereafter, the three finalists made a deal and came to an agreement: €18,000 for the eventual champion and the rest of the money distributed like this: Miguel Ángel Rodríguez (€58,000), Ruben Gonzalez Porcel (€58,000) and Jaume Niell Alomar (€50,100)

Minutes before the second break of the day, Jaume Niell Alomar went out. After only ten minutes of heads-up ply, Rodríguez managed to end the game to become the Estrellas Poker Tour Season 3 Valencia champion.
