2008 WCOOP: Schedule and satellites announced

|

Man, oh, man.

Just wait until you see this.

PokerStars has just released its 2008 World Championship of Online Poker schedule and it's twice as rich as 2007. PokerStars is guaranteeing $30,000,000 over 33 different events. This year's schedule includes several new events, including:

  • $10,300 High-Roller No-Limit Hold'em
  • Eight-Game Mixed tourney
  • Four-Max No-Limit Hold'em
  • Mixed Hold'em
  • PLO with one rebuy, one add-on
  • $25,500 High-Roller Heads-up No-Limit Hold'em
  • Six-Max Mixed Hold'em
  • No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw
  • Six-Max No-Limit Hold'em w/ rebuys
  • The 2008 WCOOP runs from September 5-21 and if my calculations are correct stands to be the biggest online tournament series in history. A $30 million guarantee is almost as cool as the schedule itself. Just when you think PokerStars has reached its innovation zenith, it comes up with something else. Triple Draw, Single Draw, Four-Max, $25,000 buy-ins. What's next?

Steps satellites for WCOOP begin today. MTT satellites start this Sunday.

The complete schedule for 2008 WCOOP can be found at the end of this post. You can find all the information you need on the PokerStars WCOOP page.
