PokerStars introduces The Sunday Warm-Up

Let's be honest with ourselves. There just isn't another regular tournament out there that's like the PokerStars Sunday Million. In the past few weeks, the tournament has regularly been seeing more than 6,500-player fields and prize pools in excess of $1.3 million. A few months ago, PokerStars kicked off a second chance tournament that runs a couple of hours later. That tournament has turned into quite a little monster on its own.

Now, PokerStars is giving you a chance to warm up your betting fingers earlier in the day. The PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up is a $215 no-limit hold'em freeze-out that is perfect for getting your head ready for the big one. It's also great for European players who want to start a major tournament that won't keep them up all night.

PokerStars started running satellites to the Sunday Warm-Up yesterday, so you already have a chance to get in to the event. The Warm-Up starts at 12:45pm ET under the Tourney/Special tab in your PokerStars lobby.

Good luck!

PokerStars to give away Aston Martin DBS

Where I come from, it's not easy to be the first guy on the block to have the coolest and latest car. There's a luxury manufacturer within spitting distance and the race to the end of the assembly line is always a tough one. Now, PokerStars is kicking things up more than a few notches.

PokerStars is set to give away a brand new, limited edition, first-off-the-line, super-secret, international-spy-style Aston Martin DBS.

It's just like the car James Bond drives in Casino Royale, and now you have a chance to win a 2007 Aston Martin DBS for as few as 25 Frequent Player Points. On December 9, PokerStars will host a freeroll tournament with more than $300,000 in prizes, including the brand new Aston Martin. This as-yet unreleased car is a limited edition model and the winner will get the first one off the production line.

So, the point is, the winner won't just be the first one on the block to have the new Aston Martin. The winner will be the first on the whole planet to have one (save, perhaps, Mr. Bond).

Visit the Aston Martin freeroll page for full details and satellite information. Click Tourney --> Satellite --> FPP or Sit&Go/Satellite in the PokerStars lobby to register.

PokerStars introduces 5 Card Draw and 2-7 Triple Draw

While it's no big secret in the poker world, PokerStars has been quietly testing a couple of new games for the past week or so. Now the world's leading poker room is publicly rolling out a couple of new offerings.

This afternoon, PokerStars began to officially offer Five-Card Draw and Deuce to Seven (2-7) Triple Draw. Of course, 5 Card Draw is the same game you've spent years playing around Grandma's table for pennies. Each player is dealt five cards, then given one opportunity to improve their hand with a draw. In 2-7 Triple Draw, players get three draws to make the worst hand between deuce and seven, with straights and flushes counting against the hand.

PokerStars is offering both games with fixed limit, pot-limit, and no-limit betting. Click the "Other Games" tab in your PokerStars lobby to try out the newest offerings. For more information on the game rules, check out the 5 Card Draw and 2-7 Triple Draw pages at PokerStars.com

Jeff "yellowsub86" Williams wins PokerStars Tournament Leader Board

Jeff "yellowsub86" Williams has once again risen to periscope depth and proven he is no flash in the pan tournament winner. Williams, the young University of Georgia student, won the 2006 EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo for more than $1 million in March. Since then, Williams has continued to show he's not a one-hit-wonder.

In what is always a hotly contested battle, Williams rose to the top of the PokerStars Tournament Leader Board last week. As the weekly winner, Williams will play Team PokerStars member Wil Wheaton in the weekly TLB heads-up match. You can watch the two players square off for the $1,000 prize on Sunday. Click "Tourney" and "Special" on your PokerStars software to watch.

Well done, Jeff.
