WSOP: Wednesday Preview

|

There is so much going on today, it's best handled in bullet point form.

  • Event #17 ($1,000) No-Limit Hold'em Final Table--Humberto Brenes and pokertrip both made the final table (Click to read about the final table). Team PokerStars Wil Wheaton didn't get as far thoe guys, but he wrote up a great report. (Read Wil Wheaton's report here)

  • Joe Hachem and Jim McManus have both made Day 2 of the $2,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em event. The two-day event played early into Wednesday morning. Just a little more than two tables of people remain and Hachem and McManus sit right in the middle of the pack. Hachem has already made a final table this year and McManus came very close earlier this week. Stay tuned for their performance. I should also congratulate Katja Thater for cashing in this event (her second cash of the 2006 WSOP).

  • The big $50,000 HORSE event kicks off today with Team PokerStars' Greg Raymer and Barry Greenstein. This is going to be one of the most important tournaments of the year. Stay tuned this afternoon for updates on that as well.

  • If you're in Vegas, visit the PokerStars suite at 6pm today to hear Barry Tanenbaum talk about common hold'em errors, with Q&A to follow. Get expert advice before you play!

Now, it's time for a little shut-eye before the day gets really, really busy.
