WSOP: A new day
Sometimes, we all need to start fresh. The World Series can be a grind. There is never a break unless you force it on yourself. For the one-timers who come out to take a shot, it is the most exciting thing in the world. For the people who are here for six weeks, one tournament starts to run into the the other.
While I'm considering this a new day at the World Series of Poker, there is a lot going on from previous days. The final table of the seven-card stud event is going on now. The Omaha 8 or better event is down to two tables. We are also in Day 2 of the $1,500 limit hold'em event.
Most of the room, though, is filled with the Friday starters playing in the $2,500 no-limit hold'em event. More than 1200 people started in this tourment, most of them simply happy to get $2,500 in starting chips (most events up until now have been $1,500).
In the early stages of this event, Team PokerStars' Barry Greenstein has jumped out to pick up around 9,000 in chips.
Indeed, this is a new day here. Sure, it may look something like the old day, but it's all a matter of persepctive and I am happy to see it as something fresh and new.
