It was a week of numbers here in the land of PokerStars.com. I found myself waking from restless daydreams about a giant Sesame Street version of the number five sitting across the table from me in a heads up match. He flipped over pocket fives to my pocket aces. When I tried to pull in the pot, the dealer pushed the checks to my opponent.
"But I have the rockets," I protested.
"Sir, he has pocket fives. And, he is the number five."
From across the baize, my opponent smirked.
"Presto."

PokerStars players hit the semi-finals at the British Poker Open
This week, London has played host to the British Poker Open and the PokerStars.com Invitational. Beginning Sunday, three of our star players will be fighting to make the final table.
2004 World Series of Poker champion Greg Raymer bested his heat to secure his place in the semis, as did European pro Baard Dahl, and Andreas Harnemo, a young gun who is rising in the ranks on the European poker scene.
Raymer, of course, needs no introduction. However, the other two have not received as much acclaim on the world stage. They are not to be counted out, however.
Dahl is a frequent player on PokerStars as well as having cashed in a 2004 WSOP event and finishing fourth in the EPT event in London last year. Harnemo stormed on the European scene this year, taking second on the EPT event in Vienna.

Good luck to all of our players.
Bonus time
This week, PokerStars announced a five-day deposit bonus to help our players pad their bankroll as they shoot for their World Series of Poker Seat. The bonus runs until Tuesday at 11:59PM ET.
Passing 512
With players scrambling to get into the World Series of Poker, PokerStars is leading the way, having surpassed 500 qualifiers and the number of total participants in the 2000 WSOP (512).
Buster Love busts'em all
PokerStars player Buster Love took down the entire field in PokerStars weekly $350,000 guarantee.
Coming soon...
The next couple of weeks are going to be pretty interesting. Keep your eye out for the PokerStars World Cup of Poker in London, the father and son team that are both heading to the WSOP with PokerStars.com wins, and a particualy neat heads-up battle brewing in Europe.
