PokerStars 10th Anniversary review: Home games

10th-ann-thumb.JPGInnovation is a word you will have seen a lot during our PokerStars 10th Anniversary review articles. Innovating and then perfecting have been two of PokerStars' mantras as it seeks constantly to improve its offering to players worldwide. Even we on the PokerStars Blog were a little surprised when this development came along.

First, though, let's examine the problem. You and a bunch of friends love the idea of playing poker together; friendly rivalry with bragging rights on the line, as well as cash if that's what you fancy. For years, your only choice was to clear the dining room table and get everyone around to your house to play. Sure, it would be fun, but organising when everyone could make it is always a nightmare.

Step forward the boffins at PokerStars HQ, who announced the arrival of Home Games in January, 2011. Now, PokerStars players had the chance to create their own 'home' game online, any time they wanted. No more hassle with travel, mess, finding cards or chips. It was all available online.

Home Games allows players to invite as many friends as they like to their 'club'. Any type of game can be set up - cash games, tournaments, in fact anything currently available on the PokerStars software. And the beauty of it is, you can arrange to play any time you want.

Since its launch, former PokerStars poker room manager Lee Jones has returned to manage the Home Games offering, ensuring our players, as ever, get the best product possible.

When it was launched, Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu said: "Nothing like the PokerStars Home Games had been offered before, and it's so easy to use. You have so many options when you open up your poker club. You can customize it any way you want, just like you would in a home game with friends."

In fact, Negreanu liked the concept so much, he made the following video to explain everything about it:
